Rebellion announces board game division Rebellion Unplugged

By Kirsten Howard. Posted

Rebellion is set to fully embrace tabletop gaming, announcing a new board game division this week called Rebellion Unplugged. A first project for the developers behind the Sniper Elite series will be Sniper Elite the Board Game, natch.

Former Osprey Games boss Duncan Molloy will lead the Unplugged team, which will “release new physical games and collectibles based on the company’s diverse and extensive collection of properties”.

Time to start dreaming about the possibilities!

“We’re absolutely delighted to be launching Rebellion Unplugged,” said Rebellion CEO Jason Kingsley. “My brother Chris and I have been making video games for more than 25 years, and our love of the medium has its roots in our childhood love of board games. We’ve got so many great games and comic book heroes and universes to draw from too, so it’s going to be a lot of fun.”

If you're going to PAX Unplugged next month, there'll be a chance to try out a tentative version of Sniper Elite the Board Game. A Kickstarter will be launched in 2020.
